Kinja'd!!!

I go to the Google Play store to get free tunes , but it’s generally not the stuff I would normally buy or listen to. I also don’t have my music library on this particular computer. Somehow they seem to have a pretty solid grasp of my musical preferences as I see five of my favorite albums on this list, and somehow I suspect that I will probably like most, if not all, of the items on this recommended list. Weird...

Remember that Google is all-seeing and all-knowing. They are one of the masters of data collection.

In the back of m y mind I already knew that, but I had no idea that their targeting would be quite so specific.

First three and last two. It’s an eclectic assortment to be sure, and I’m sure that the others fit well with my odd and varied musical tastes. I hit the ‘See more’ button and sure enough, many of my favorite artists were on the list.

I hope someday Google gets their recommendation engine up to par with Spotify’s, and figures out how to make a local app to replace the web player. Then it’d be basically perfect. So far I’ve only found one or two songs that they didn’t have.

Everybody is a great album.

She Blinded Me with Science is also a great song.

I will agree that She Blinded Me with Science is a great song, but there is an amazing collection of songs on that album that still has me listening to it over 30+ years after I first purchased it ( gawd I’m old... ) I usually skip past   SBMWS since I’ve heard it so many times, and concentrate on some of the deeper cuts that never got much airplay. I’ve always loved the bass on Weightless . There are still a few cuts off of the original UK release that I’m not familiar with, but thankfully I can track them down via YouTube (whilst simultaneously giving Google more data about my musical tastes...)
